Dear Tricia,

I always love a good challenge. And I’ll be the first to admit that I did not want to come back after my first class. It was so hot! I never felt so terrible and good at the same time. I had done yoga before, but not consistently and had never considered the hot kind as it seemed too extreme. One day I was talking to a friend and I asked him how he kept so fit – he was in fabulous shape. He said Bikram Yoga and that sparked my interest. I had no idea what was in store for me and got a lot more than I bargained for.

I signed up for the 30 Day Challenge for many reasons. Yes, the incentive was there, go 30 days in a row and get 30 free! Of course I’d give it a shot. But I also knew there would be some great benefits from regular practice. I had just gone through a tough period in my life and wanted to have a goal to work towards. I was feeling uneasy all the time and having trouble sleeping. I was a manic stress ball that needed something to manage the stress levels and challenge myself in a way I haven’t before. I didn’t know it then, but this was exactly what I was looking for. And who knew that I would fall in love with it?

How has this practice affected my life? Oh, in a myriad of ways. It has taught me a great lesson in living in the here and now, being in the present moment. I’m in good spirits often, I have oodles of energy and am sleeping like a baby. Things that used to stress me out before, don’t stress me out as much. I have more patience, concentration and perspective. The best part of it all is that it’s consistent. And for the first time in my life, I am building core strength and flexibility.

Thank you for providing a great experience for me in a warm and supportive environment. Your studio is a unique oasis and it’s a pleasure to come practice there every day. The instructors are knowledgeable and enthusiastic. And finally, my body thanks me for paying attention to every single part of it during those 90 minutes. It’s nice to be at peace with my mind and my body. I am a very happy gal these days!

All the best,
Gina
